Aylesbury Tennis Club Completes LED Light Installation on Courts 4–7

Aylesbury Tennis Club is delighted to share that our final phase of court lighting improvements is now complete. In mid-October, we installed the last eight state-of-the-art LED floodlights across Courts 4, 5, 6 and 7 — a project completed smoothly over just three days. These upgrades mark an exciting step forward in making our club even more welcoming, accessible and enjoyable for players of all ages and abilities.

Why This Upgrade Matters

LED lighting uses significantly less energy than traditional metal-halide lamps. This helps the club reduce its carbon footprint and operate more sustainably — something we are committed to across all areas of the club. It also means lower running costs, allowing us to reinvest more into facilities, coaching and community programmes.

4. Instant On/Off Lighting

Unlike older lights that require a warm-up period, LEDs reach full brightness instantly. Players no longer have to wait for lights to “warm up”, and energy isn’t wasted keeping lights on unnecessarily.

5. Reduced Maintenance and Longer Lifespan

LEDs last far longer than traditional court lights, which means fewer replacements, less downtime, and more consistent lighting year-round. This reliability supports both regular club play and hosted competitions.
